Ruth Sembjwe, PCC

Faculty & Mentor Coach

Ruth is the CEO of Pathway Coaching International and brings more than 40 years of experience across the private sector, NGOs, and the United Nations (UN). Her career has centred on supporting people and systems, primarily through staff counselling, human resources, and programmes dedicated to socio-economic development.

Her passion for coaching led her to design and establish the internal coaching programme at the United Nations Office in Vienna (UNOV). As an Executive Coach, she partners with organisational leaders, entrepreneurs, and small-business owners to deepen self-awareness, develop leadership capacity, and cultivate the behaviours needed to create meaningful impact. Ruth believes that leadership exists in everyone and that coaching becomes a powerful global force when it is accessible to people across all social and economic backgrounds, reflecting the spirit of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the principle that no one should be left behind.

Her coaching philosophy is symbolised by a rose. Just as roses bloom in many colours, Ruth’s multicultural upbringing and professional journey have shaped her profound appreciation for diversity. She sees herself as the soil in which her clients can root, grow, and ultimately blossom. Her experience living and working across cultures has taught her that true transformation happens when individuals feel seen, valued, and supported in expressing their unique identity.

In her coaching practice, Ruth helps clients reconnect with what matters most to them, fostering deeper self-awareness, conscious decision-making, and authentic leadership. She views coaching not only as a performance tool but as a pathway to resilience, purpose, and personal evolution—much like the unfolding of a rose.

Ruth’s coaching is grounded in both extensive practical experience and formal training. She is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF), a mentor coach, and holds additional certifications in executive, group, and team coaching, as well as coaching supervision.

She holds a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and a Master’s degree in Organisational Development.
